Alex SoutheyFebruary 18, 2026Seen it before reviewing it now but this is quite possibly the best documentary series I have ever seen. It certainly is in terms of the Vietnam War.

Lucas.February 18, 2026Amazing film. Super tight, with ahead-of-its-time themes.

Lucas.February 14, 2026I keep trying to gaslight myself into liking this, but the truth is the truth. Although it does have some great scenes, it's not enough to make up for this movie as a whole. It's shallow! Their love is so tied to sex that there is little room for anything else. They just pine for each other but we never get an exploration into what ties them so closely together, especially when they're adults. And the the final act was dreadful. It's tonally inconsistent and their relationship just doesn't seem grounded in reality at all. I know it's a fantasy, but at least try to make these characters believable or relatable, no?

StevenCsMoviesFebruary 12, 2026I’ve always had a love for Lovecraftian horror (inspired by the author H.P Lovecraft), I’m not sure why. For the unfamiliar, this is a subgenre of horror that includes fear of the unknown, incomprehensible, or unnatural. The new movie IRON LUNG is all of these. This is based on David Szymanski’s 2022 independent video game of the same name. It is directed, written, edited, starring, and self-financed by famous YouTuber Mark Fischbach AKA Markiplier. In the distant future, an event called the Quiet Rapture causes all stars and planets to vanish, leaving only those on space stations left. Desperate for answers, they send a convict named Simon (Markiplier) down in a retrofitted sub (different kind of prison cell) through an ocean of blood to find some semblance of hope for humanity. For the most part, it’s filmed in a single confined space. After watching this, I watched Markiplier himself play through the entire video game, and I gained a new appreciation for what he has made. Most of the time, video game adaptations take the name and basic concept, then try something new with it. This movie is the exact opposite. I can confidently say it’s one of the most faithful adaptations of a game I’ve seen. Normally, I would praise that fact. This is one of those rare occasions where I needed a little expansion. A little more story, a little more thrills, especially in the first half. There are quite a few scenes that should’ve been edited down. This could’ve been an easy breezy 90 minutes. The video game itself can be finished in under an hour! The movie has a deliberately slow pace, which might frustrate most of you. I can’t talk about this movie without talking about its success. This is an independent film not backed by any company or a traditional marketing rollout. It cost $3 million to make, and it’s made over ten times that so far. This is a true passion project. The audio could’ve been better, many voices requiring subtitles. The character is mostly one-note, but Mark actually does a good job. Admittedly, he could’ve given us more in terms of story and writing. There’s a very fine line between mysterious and confusing. The production design is great, as are the visuals. I believe it has broken the world record for most fake blood used in a movie, using 80,000 gallons! That’s a bloody lot! Certain things translated better than others from video game to movie. Overall, IRON LUNG is for a very specific audience, but it represents a hopeful new era of moviemaking, one that focuses on passion and respect for the source material. It gives hope to filmmakers who are trying to navigate their own path outside the studio model. It’s not perfect, but it’s damn good for what it is.

Rodolfo Jose Quilantan TapiaFebruary 12, 2026I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie. I couldn't stop making theories and assumptions about the characters and their motives as I watched it. The performances are top-notch, superbly written, directed etc. This movie hands down, should have had more nominations.

Lucas.February 11, 2026One of the best biopics ever. They cover a lot of ground, but that helps keep the pacing of this 3 hour movie strong. Denzel is a force to be reckoned with. And the story of Malcolm X is still inspiring. This film gives a lot of food for thought.

K AugustFebruary 9, 2026The scariest film ever made? Yes, yes it is. And the fact that I watched this as a child - clearly not ready to experience this particular view of nuclear war - is all the more reason why you should watch this one and consider what could have been. It is set in England before and many years after a nuclear strike finally occurs after news reports and conflicts that felt like they were taking place somewhere very far away. What is striking is that it does not ignore the personal at the expense of the entire nation and planet's descent into chaos. And yes, you can compare this to 'The Day After' (remember that one?), and consider how weak and insipid that earlier American view of war actually was.
Please watch this...and then consider what it means...for all of us.
