Bernadette (1981)
- Drama
Direção: Nicolás Del Boca
Roteiro: Alberto Alejandro
The story follows the life of Bernadette Soubirous (played by Andrea del Boca), a humble shepherd girl from Lourdes. The plot centers on her visions of a "beautiful lady dressed in white" (the Virgin Mary) at the grotto of Masse-Vieille. Following the first apparition, Bernadette is miraculously cured of the asthma from which she suffered. As these mystical events unfold, the town becomes divided: the majority of the people and parishioners begin to believe her, while civil and religious authorities remain skeptical, questioning the veracity of her claims. The narrative explores her struggle to convey the religious significance of the apparitions and her preparation for First Communion, all while she is viewed with a mixture of devotion and suspicion by the society of the time.
