Doce Trapaça (2001)★ 6.5/10

The first half is delightful, filled with witty dialogue, playful setups, and comic motivations that feel fresh and fun. Once the film shifts toward focusing on romance, though, it slips into cliché and loses much of its spark.

From a modern perspective the story seems illogical, and as the film progresses it increasingly loses its charm. Yet, the pacing remains tight and the execution polished. The happy ending is neatly tied together, while a lingering note of mystery gives the finale an extra twist.
