Diego Pineda Pacheco14 de novembro de 2025A chilling portrait of the nature of evil, one of the most atmospheric and thought-provoking studies of the dark, violent seed hidden deep inside all of us that cinema has ever produced. "Cure" makes every movement, every sound, every detail in its frame and outside of it a nightmarish, almost demonic omen. It’s a mean, mean movie, but so impeccably made in every sense—striking visuals, exceptional performances, a hell of an ending—that it’s impossible to ever look away.

Antonia_Mills28 de fevereiro de 2025Kiyoshi Kurosawa excels in his mastery of mise-en-scène and atmospheric tension. The smooth camera movements, heightened diegetic sounds, and absence of a score heighten the film’s eerie tone. Lighting and shadows reflect inner turmoil, and distant shots of murder scenes convey a chilling theatricality—especially during a mid-film transition that is nothing short of goosebump-inducing. The blend of religious, mystical, and supernatural elements is flawlessly integrated, making the story just as gripping as its visual and auditory execution.

Alexander_Walker27 de fevereiro de 2025The film's restrained narrative and minimalist approach—eschewing both a soundtrack and any climax—leave viewers subtly influenced by the director’s visual language. The desolate atmosphere and urban ennui evoked by lingering shots are palpable. X’s seemingly hypnotic influence reveals each character’s inner darkness and frustrations. The director’s knowledge in psychology and sociology shines, enabling him to craft a crime thriller that chills to the bone.

Serena Lee2 de novembro de 2024First of all, It was such a creepy and strange film. But obviously they had a lot of points to think deeply and I like it.
It is a uncommon thriller movie because, that keeps the thrill even they reveal all of the mystery clues. It's meticulous, neat, uncomfortable, elaborate, insecure, and chilly.
I've been thinking about the meaning behind the title for a whole day, and I guess Mamiya healed Takabe with the breath of the devil.
In the later part of the movie, Takabe lost his name slips at dry cleaner and I took that as he lost his name just like Mamiya. Also they showed the server walking with a knife after talking with Takabe on the last scene, those things seem like the two characters gradually became identified and associated to each other.
Is there such a hopeless happy ending, it made me even more scared because it felt like it wouldn't end like an epidemic.
