Carrie, a Estranha (1976)★ 7.7/10

Um clássico, esse foi uma das primeiras adaptações de uma obra de Stephen King para o cinema. A grande atuação de Sissy Spacek como Carrie White faz alguns se sentirem identificados e outros aterrorizados.

Sorry, that was a bit flippant, but a part of me cannot accept that Brian De Palma's classic take on Stephen King's first novel is now fifty years old, and has not dated in its ability to scare us (only the wardrobe department proves that the years have passed). Carrie White (played by Sissy Spacek) is the ultimate outcast. Her peers despise her; her mother is a religious fanatic who continually chastizes her (a gleefully malicious Piper Laurie); and then there is that whole telekinesis thing. Imagine being back in high school, not knowing what to do with yourself, and then discovering such an incredible source of power. With a cast including Amy Irving, Nancy Allen and John Travolta (!), you owe it to yourself to watch the original and understand why living in the golden age of horror really was a wonderful trip.

Excelente adaptación del libro

La película es tan genial que las pibas decimos que estamos en modo carrie cuando nos viene. Épica, memorable, vintage iconica. Está buena para una primera cita.

Carrie es la historia de una piba tímida, una madre religiosa desquiciada y un grupo de adolescentes con cero empatía. Todo va mal, obvio.

Carrie me dejó con un nudo en el pecho. Es una historia sobre el dolor de ser diferente, el miedo, y lo que pasa cuando ese miedo se convierte en furia. No es solo terror: es tristeza, represión y una violencia que crece en silencio. Te parte y te atrapa
