Terra em Transe (1967)★ 7.2/10

It transcends mere political drama, presenting a visual experiment on violence, hunger, and redemption. Indigenous music, religious chants, and the protagonist’s poetry interweave as emotional outlets and political statements, offering a critical look at power and the role of art that remains relevant today.

The film portrays brutal reactionaries, compromising liberal politicians, ignorant masses, and anguished intellectuals while displaying rough audio effects and chaotic editing with sudden close-ups on whoever is speaking.
