After spending 20 years wrongfully imprisoned in Morocco, Diana returns to Portugal determined to reclaim her children and prove her innocence. She discovers that her ex-husband, Pedro, made their children believe she had died and erased all traces of her true identity. To protect them and stay close to them, Diana agrees to marry Pedro, becoming, in their eyes, the unwanted stepmother they despise, a role she endures to keep them safe and win back their love.
