Thomas Roche
Reparto
Born in Chicago, IL, Thomas attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he studied under Stan Brakhage and majored in Film. Upon graduation he returned to Chicago and began studying acting at the Chicago Actors Studio. Chicago's famed Improv scene soon came calling, and Thomas began studying improvisational acting with Del Close and Charna Halpern at the legendary Improv Olympic on Clark Street. After cutting his teeth on a couple of stages across Chicago a bit of serendipity intervened that led him to the brilliantly creative absurdists Wm. Bullion and Sid Feldman at Sliced Bread Productions - a theater company inspired by Commedia dell'arte and "The Style"; a performance concept conceived at The Actors' Gang. This was the approach to theater that Thomas had been searching for, as it exposed him to the infinite cartoon playground of Absurd Theater. Thomas had no idea that he would eventually move to Los Angeles and one day become a Teaching Artist of "The Style" at The Actors' Gang; the world-renowned theater company Co-Founded by Tim Robbins. Thomas has performed his stand-up routine as an opener for comedian Tom Green, as well as numerous contestants and finalists from Last Comic Standing. Thomas is also Co-Founder of Captured Aural Phantasy Theater Los Angeles; a performance collective inspired by Vaudeville, vintage comic books, classic radio programs, and unending silliness. Thanks to fellow Co-Founder Ben Dickow, C.A.P.T. has built a wonderful relationship with EC Comics, and as a result C.A.P.T. has been granted exclusive rights to perform EC Comics live on stage. C.A.P.T. has performed all over Los Angeles, and is annually invited to host and present a panel at the San Diego Comic Convention, aka "Comic Con". Thomas is known as an actor, comedian, teacher, writer, filmmaker, director, producer, avid hiker, and Die-Hard Chicago Cubs fan.
