Confirmation (2016)★ 7.1/10

As a piece of cinema, the use of real footage and grounded storytelling limits some dramatic flair. Yet the editing flows seamlessly, and the film never feels forced or awkward. It’s best approached as a glimpse into history, which makes the experience all the more engrossing.

With a real-life story at its core, the film avoids melodrama and instead weaves in archival news footage, grounding the narrative in reality. This blend may feel too matter-of-fact for some, but the performances—particularly by the leads—give the film its much-needed emotional depth.
