"Icarus" begins as a personal experiment and morphs into a tense geopolitical thriller. As the director peels back layers of deception, the film gains gripping momentum and presents the unfolding scandal with clarity and urgency, which is great even for viewers unfamiliar with sports politics.

In a world of lies, telling the truth becomes revolution, and the revolutionary Gregory becomes Snowden in the history of sports. The documentary begins with Brian, an amateur cycling director, trying to challenge the drug testing agency by himself. It unexpectedly develops to letting the Moscow contact replace him as the protagonist of the big event. The dramatic change is so dramatic that people forget the original intention of the film and forget that Brian was beaten so hard. Multiple needles and pooled urine. The ending of the film forgets to change Russia's fate in Pyeongchang.
