Storyline
Director and Grimme Award winner Jan Georg Schütte invites you to a wedding celebration where no eye will be dry, no kitsch will go untouched, and no abyss of absurdity will remain undiscovered. His brilliant ensemble stumbles, dances, and improvises its way through a six-episode odyssey full of heart, hysteria, and hashtags. At the center of it: the bride and groom Jäckie and Lukas, played by Luise von Finckh and Felix Kreutzer, who, in the spirit of the post-factual love maxim "fake it till you make it," exchange vows live online - as a grand production for the simultaneous launch of their new fashion company, celebrated by their followers. The entire spectacle is directed by Jäcki's girlfriend Simone, played by Lena Klenke. Devid Striesow, Anja Kling, and Martin Brambach, as the three-person bride-in-law, celebrate the grand family merger, while Tobias Moretti, as the groom's father, faces the big day with a gloomy, thunderous storm - for several reasons. Sonja Romei, Josephine Bloéb, and Gustav Schmidt provide wedding chaos deluxe, shattering the fragile patchwork between Mecklenburg and Tyrol in their own unique way. Director Jan Georg Schütte lets his star ensemble run wild: no scripts, just character profiles - pure improvisation. Between the Alpine panorama and the Instagram facade, a tragicomic tour de farce unfolds, oscillating between love madness and real-life reality.
