In past American TV shows, Asian characters often had a uniform, indistinct identity. However, in Beef, the series distinctly showcases the national characteristics of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and American Asians, which is a rare and commendable achievement.

It's okay, with a fairly standard concept, storyline, characters, and acting—all pretty average.

It completely exceeded my expectations. I got really emotional when the two characters who redeemed each other looked at the camera and shared a smile in the last episode. Everything is ephemeral. This is similar to the ending of “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, where you only realize the person who means so much to you after going through challenges and finding new hopes together.

If you approach it as a comedy, you might find the beginning a bit lackluster, but it's not your typical depiction of Asian American struggles. A random incident exposed the true essence of the main characters' lives, and the apparent loss of control seemed like their lives were falling apart, but it's actually a healing journey for them. No matter how polished we may seem, everyone's been through their share of struggles. It's almost magical when you meet someone who is as broken as you are.

In the past, Asian characters in American series often had a generic and unclear portrayal. However, in this show, the unique cultural traits of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Asian American characters are vividly depicted, which is genuinely rare and valuable.

Superou completamente minhas expectativas.
