Young Royals (2021)★ 8.5/10

Time for the finale! I was pretty anxious about how they'd tie up such a complex theme before watching the finale, but then I figured out it's actually not that complicated. This Nordic youth drama is seriously awesome, with richly developed characters. A lot of folks are saying Omar Rudberg's acting has gotten better, but I think he's just loosened up, benefiting his acting in return. And he's obviously gone from a boyish charm to a more mature presence. I hope y’all can discover your true selves, embrace who you are, and stay authentic during your rollercoaster teenage years!

The final season is kind of underwhelming. The second season had some exciting melodramatic twists, but this one just carries on with the same old conflicts and ties up the loose ends from before. The romance plot doesn't really throw any curveballs. Despite facing tough realities, William and Simon's love still glows with idealistic optimism. Love means equality and freedom, and love enables them to overcome the major divides of class, family, and values.

I like this season better than the first two because it delves into the complexity and harsh truths about love that I look for in TV shows, and it's executed really nicely. I'm actually hoping the ending is a downer because, let's face it, love isn't always a fairy tale. Plus, no amount of courage and affection can mask the differences and conflicts between people, and it's hard to turn a blind eye to the challenges and harshness of real life.

Ah, this one is more in what's not said than in what is (and not just because the original language is, well... difficult). The cinematography is gorgeous, the exterior shots are crazy beautiful, first off. The story is nothing we haven't seen before, but takes on I guess the characteristics of its environment and culture, plus the pacing is very particular. All this combined makes for an intriguing experience that's worth a watch, but not necessarily light entertainment.

Great show! All the characters are deep, they have important stories and backgrounds. The main couple is extremely cute, Edvin and Omar are great actors and I hope I can see them doing other projects. And I can’t wait for season 2!

I liked season 1, but I think everything was too fast. Episodes are long but there are only 6, and as the show has a lot of plots, I was expecting for more development. I wish they can make more episodes in season 2.

Me gustó más esta temporada que las primeras dos porque se adentra en la complejidad y en las verdades duras del amor que busco en las series y está muy bien ejecutada. En realidad espero que el final sea pesimista, porque seamos realistas, el amor no siempre es como un cuento de hadas. Además, por mucha valentía y afecto que uno tenga, no se pueden ocultar las diferencias y los conflictos entre las personas y es difícil pasar por alto los desafíos y las dificultades de la vida real.
