I believe this show is overrated. In my opinion, the plot is pretty formulaic and lacks creativity. I can predict what will happen next after watching just one scene, which immediately takes me out of the immersion. Frankly, I find the characters to be quite one-dimensional and unremarkable overall. It does expose the evil side of human nature but falls short of portraying the complexity of it.

"Squid Game" presents an endless survival game filled with dark satires and metaphors. It is both thrilling and gruesome, definitely a treat for people who love this kind of drama. It is also extremely terrifying to realize that we are not so different from the people who enjoy designing these games and watching people suffer from behind the camera. (PS: Yoo Gong looks really sexy in a suit!)

I like a good survival game show, but this really was Hunger Games' ugly cousin. Despite asking myself several times what the hell I was watching, I couldn't stop, and I was done in only a few days. There is a method to the madness and despite the many plot holes and a few predictable shortcuts in terms of storyline here and there, the show's got compelling and well developed characters, is creepy as hell in all the parts where it intends to be and will not hesitate to run over any emotional stability you might have achieved at the moment, either. Overall, though, it's easy enough entertainment to follow, and I recommend it if you're not bothered by the occasional mass shooting.

Gloriously gory binge-ride from hell

There’s gratuitous violence, several nerve-wracking moments, and some truly terrifying revelations and betrayals, but what makes Squid Game go beyond a textbook survival show-template are the rare moments of camaraderie the contestants share. One can’t help but cheer them on as they attempt to work as a team through a truly harrowing game, or when one contestant covertly helps another one with his task thanks to a silly, yet life-saving hack.
