Professor Jasper Tempest, a genius Cambridge University criminologist with OCD and an overbearing mother, assists the police in solving crime.

Original title

Professor T

Storyline

Every aspect of Professor Jasper Tempest's life is rigidly structured. Impeccably dressed and meticulously punctual, he lectures at the Cambridge Institute of Criminology. Thanks to a strictly regimented routine, his OCD and germaphobia are under control. But his buttoned-down world is slowly undone as one of his former students, Detective Sergeant Lisa Donckers, persuades him to assist in an investigation. Professor T's brilliant mind proves invaluable, but cracks in his carefully constructed, emotionless shell begin to appear. Working with the fiery, occasionally chaotic Lisa drags him out of his comfort zone and forces him to confront his suppressed feelings for an old flame, Detective Chief Inspector Christina Brand. And when he moves back into his dusty and derelict family home - an uncharacteristically irrational decision - he finds it difficult to escape the influence of his imperious mother, Adelaide: They share a harrowing family secret that has cast a long shadow over both their lives.
