The doctors succeed in extracting the three bullets, except for a shrapnel lodged in his brain: they only give the lawyer one year to live. Determined to correct his past mistakes, Idriss Toma returns to his city of Lille and joins forces with a committed lawyer and a former member of the bar to defend the weak.
