The finale of "Succession" perfectly aligns with my expectations for tragedy: to be overshadowed by those you once deemed inferior, to realize your insignificance and sorrow after assuming you could achieve greatness, and only to helplessly watch as what was desperately sought after fades away.

"Succession" has the unique ability to draw viewers deeply into its drama without a single relatable character. It's ironic how it's your father who gave you everything, only to destroy everything, and this is what brings the show back to stark reality.

Why do people hate on the camera work? I, on the other hand, find that the random zoom-ins during close-ups add an extra layer of realism and satire. And the money spent on the theme song was well worth it. They use it every single time there's an establishing shot.

This show always gets you rooting for a certain character, hoping to see him or her make a comeback, achieve success, seize power, or become a hero. But they let you down in the end, and you might even grow to hate their flaws and weaknesses. Yet, deep down, you also realize that everyone is flawed in some way, just like them. The virtues and vices of each character are always entwined and impossible to separate, and the exceptional script and performances draw you in, making it impossible to resist getting caught up in the twists and turns of these characters' destinies.

This is the show that delivers climatic moments in every episode and humor in every line. Every conversation, every line is just so well done—it captures all the character traits, relationships, plot developments, and everything else. I'm planning to rewatch every episode of this show. Binge-watching this series once without savoring every moment of it is a crime.

Maybe this is the true "Game of Thrones”, or perhaps, the world is just full of power struggles. It's difficult to imagine that "Succession" could almost entirely rely on dialogue to move the story forward and consistently develop characters in a large ensemble cast. This show is truly a comical tragedy. The use of zoom shots takes away the seriousness, yet the underlying mood is grim. The closer one gets to power, the more necessary it becomes to cast aside emotions. Guess treating life like a game is the only option for the upper class.

The first season is truly a masterpiece despite the overly dramatic plotline leading to the two failed "patricides". The success and upkeep of all business empires are rooted in extreme patriarchy. Each of the four children pursues their own ambitions and displays plenty of arrogance and courage, but their underlying timidity and weakness become glaringly obvious whenever they confront their father. While it may seem like a story of modern-day business competition and family strife, in truth, it's a classical tragedy.

One of HBO All-Time Masterpiece

The sense of substitution in the drama is too strong, almost all the series produced by HBO will become classics. I believe that many people will feel the same as me: for the sons of the sick father Logan Roy, the biggest feeling will be: regret that all sons’ offspring do not live up to Logan Roy and audiences’ expectations. This feeling is as if we can inherit the wealth in the play, which is ironic.

Family matters

Family feuds? That strikes a chord, count me in! Amazing acting and great cast.

This season is *killing me*!

Contains spoilers
Much has already been said and written about the characters and cast in the series. I would like to comment on Kieran Culkin ( Roman Roy in the story ). It is useless to discuss who delivers the best performance in Succession, especially in its 3rd season. Kieran Culkin is among the best, no question about it. However, in each new episode I watch, I am more convinced he modeled everything on Woody Woodpecker. Loud, sarcastic, acid, irreverent, politically incorrect ( to put it mildly ), annoying and cruel. And the hair ! Whenever he has the hair all messed up and pointing up - which is more and more - , that little corner- of- the- mouth evil smile … he is the "live action" version of Woody.

Incredible Shakesperian-like drama

This whole series is a masterpiece, from the first time I saw it it completely absorbed me. Its plot and themes improve as the episodes progress and in its third season it reaches inexplicable proportions.

Backstabbing fest

The writing, character development and performances unite in delivering compelling characters that do an intriguing job of making us relate to them and despise them in equal and/or alternating measures, and I think that's what really keeps people loyal to the show. Also, of course, there's loads of drama to be spilled and backstabbing of filhty billionaires to go around, so there's that to draw them in as well.
