- Storyline
- Two partners working in publishing, Philippe Josper and Francis Carpentier, argue at the promotional evening for their latest work "Copulla, Daughter of the Devil," the terrifying heroine of their adult comic book collection. However, at the end of the evening, they quickly make up over a bottle of Cognac. As Philippe staggers home, he is hit by the car of a young American woman. She takes him home, offers to compensate him for his torn jacket, nurses him, cuddles him... and runs off around 5 a.m., leaving only a 500 franc note with the words "Sorry for the coat, Jennifer - New York 212 828 23 45!" Philippe then returns home. On his return, he is arrested by the police who inform him of Francis's murder.
