- In 1983, Keiichi Maebara moves to the rural village of Hinamizawa and quickly bonds with his classmates. But behind their cheerful lives lies a dark mystery: a string of deaths linked to the village’s festival and a local deity. As paranoia sets in and his friends grow evasive, Keiichi begins to question what secrets they’re hiding, and whether he can trust anyone at all.
