The Talk (2025)
- Comedy
Directed by: James Okubo
Written by: James Okubo
Tomo thinks he's alone at home and takes a moment to "let off steam" (i.e., masturbate) until his father, Kazu, walks in unannounced. What follows is an awkward, fumbling attempt at the "birds and the bees" talk between two men who've spent years avoiding meaningful communication. As the discussion spirals from sex to masculinity to long-buried regrets, both father and son are forced to confront the silence that has plagued their family for generations. At its heart, The Talk is a darkly comedic but deeply human story about breaking patterns and finding connection in the most uncomfortable of moments.
