- Storyline
- This two-part series about the aftermath of the war is based on the autobiographical experiences of Peter Zingler, who incorporated his personal childhood memories into the endearing character of young Paul. Paul experiences the rubble of Cologne as a giant adventure playground, full of dangers and hardships - but also wonderful moments of happiness. His grandmother Anna, whose Jewish husband has been missing since 1941, tries to support the family, even sending the children to smuggle goods to the Belgian border.
