Mike High's earliest memory of monsters and movies was when he was about 4, watching Chiller (1967) on WTTG channel 5 in D.C. He caught the wave of monster mania in the mid-sixties and amassed quite a collection of stuff that sadly was consigned to a landfill when he "outgrew" monsters. For Christmas 1978, he got a super eight movie camera and that day decided to shoot his first movie, The Alien (1979). Using another Christmas gift, a mask, the entire film was shot in 2 hours. "...and boy does it show!" says Mike. The Alien (1979) was the first and only production of Galaxy Films as girls and cars replaced film making as a "favorite hobby".
