Born Mohamed Ibrahim Hamed in Faisal, Giza, and raised in the neighborhood of Maadi, Cairo, FLEX was heavily influenced during his childhood by American hip-hop, drawing early artistic inspiration from Eminem. Fascinated by rhythmic cadence and raw storytelling, he sought to channel the grit of Cairo's street culture into a musical voice. In 2020, he aligned with the Maadi Town Mafia collective, a pivotal move that positioned him at the center of Egypt's evolving rap scene. There, he began experimenting with drill production, adapting his raspy vocal delivery and aggressive flow pattern to the heavy sub-bass and fast-paced tempos that would define the regional genre. FLEX's discography formally began with his debut four-track EP, SHAYATEEN, released in late 2021. The project served as a catalyst for his rapid rise, led by its standout title track featuring frequent collaborator Husayn. SHAYATEEN was significant because it introduced an unpolished, street-level alternative to mainstream Arabic trap, establishing FLEX as a main architect of the emerging Egyptian drill sound. He expanded on this success in December 2022 with his breakthrough EP, MESMA3EEN. Anchored by the chart-topping single LOGAN, the project catapulted FL EX from underground prominence to regional stardom. LOGAN became a widespread phenomenon for its vivid lyricism, acting as an informal archive of youth living on Cairo’s urban periphery. The EP's title track, MESMA3EEN (also featuring Husayn), further demonstrated his ability to dominate streaming charts and solidify his footprint in North African hip-hop. In September 2025, FLEX reached a career-defining moment with the release of his debut full-length studio album, WA7ED. The 10-track project signaled a major evolution from his earlier EP format, showcasing his maturation as a songwriter and performer. Anchored by hard-hitting tracks like 3AWDET EL FA2DAN, OBA, 2ODA 2, and W NEHAYTO (TAMAM TAMAM) featuring Ziad Zaza, WA7ED reinforced his position at the forefront of the regional scene while proving his ability to anchor a full-length body of work. Beyond his core projects, FLEX built a formidable discography of influential standalone singles and collaborative tracks. His hit single SEBNY ALA DOOL alongside Ziad Zaza became an anthem in the local scene, complemented by high-impact tracks like HOSS, MATARAT (SAREF), and his appearance on SCENE CYPHER 3. Demonstrating his crossover appeal, FL EX bridged his musical output directly into film by crafting original songs for the big screen, notably contributing AAL SAHEL and HESA (featuring Perrie) to the official soundtrack of the movie NOGOOM EL SAHEL.
