“In the household in which I was raised, the themes were pretty simple. 'Work hard. Don't quit. Be appreciative, be thankful, be grateful, be respectful. Also, never whine, never complain. And always, for crying out loud, keep a sense of humor.” Michael John Douglas, better known as Michael Keaton, had his acting debut in American television, but the recognition began when starred in his first film, "Night Shift" (1982) directed by Ron Howard. Although comedy is the genre in which he seems to move with ease thanks to his natural histrionics, Keaton has proven to be a versatile actor with the ability to achieve interpretations with a high dose of ambiguity and depth; as proof of this we just have to see him in the skin of Batman in Tim Burton's versions or, in his stellar role, Riggan Thomson/Birdman in Alejandro González Iñárritu's "Birdman" (2014). Role that earned him his First Golden Globe and SAG Award, among others. In addition, in 2007, Keaton made his directorial debut and also starred in the drama "The Merry Gentleman" (2009) which was selected for the Sundance Film Festival in 2008.
