“The wonderful thing about film is that you have something that has a beginning, middle, and end, and you have a concrete amount of time to shoot it.” Lucy Liu is an American actress, producer, and director known for her work in television, film, and theater. She studied acting at the University of Michigan before moving on to pursue an entertainment career. Liu began her career with small roles in television and film, and she also worked as a model. Her early appearances included guest spots on TV shows like "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "The X-Files". She gained significant recognition for her role as Ling Woo in the legal dramedy "Ally McBeal". Her performance earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. She was nominated for several awards for her work on the show. Later, Liu starred as Alex Munday in the "Charlie's Angels" film series, which was a major commercial success. The films, directed by McG, showcased her action and comedic skills alongside co-stars Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. She received widespread acclaim for her role as O-Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill: Volume 1" and "Kill Bill: Volume 2". Her performance as the vengeful assassin was praised for its intensity and style. Liu has appeared in a variety of films, including "Chicago" (2002), where she played a supporting role as a cellmate, and "Lucky Number Slevin" (2006), a crime thriller in which she starred opposite Josh Hartnett and Bruce Willis.
