Robert Moses was a powerful and controversial urban planner whose influence reshaped New York City in the 20th century. Known for his ambitious infrastructure projects, he controlled the city's bridges, highways, and parks, often wielding more power than elected officials. While publicly seen as a visionary, behind the scenes, he was ruthless in pushing his agenda, frequently displacing poor and minority communities under the guise of urban renewal. His ability to maintain control through bureaucracy and political maneuvering made him a lasting force in urban development. Moses' legacy has drawn comparisons to fictional characters like Wilson Fisk (Daredevil, Spider-Man), who similarly uses real estate, construction, and political connections to consolidate power in New York.
