Gloria Laino is a stage, film, and TV award-winning actress best known for her recurring role as 'The Mexican,' an insane asylum lunatic in the FX award-winning hit drama series "American Horror Story: Asylum," and as 'Baron's Familiar' in the critically acclaimed TV series "What We Do in the Shadows." Her acting career began on the stage and leaped forward when a single line in a play seen by a director resulted in her being cast as a principal in a recurring role on a TV show. Fluent in Spanish and English growing up, she spent her young adult years in Jordan, where she learned to speak Arabic. Gloria's cultural heritage empowers her creation of a rich range of characters including an Old World Vampire's Familiar, an Algerian martyr on a secret mission, an ill-fated dementia patient, a nosy mother-in-law, and more. As a screenwriter, her work has earned awards in multiple categories.
