I mainly watched the film because it’s Oscar-nominated. Though it starts out quite slow, I was mesmerized by the turn of events around 1 hr 15 minutes into the film. I loved the music scene where generations past, present and future dance to the sound of Sammie’s guitar. That moment stood out to me. The second half of the film is not bad. Certainly more intense than Part I. I can see the massive talent of everyone involved. But it’s not the best film of the year for me.

The only thing I would change about the movie is that the Native Americans never show up again? They make it seem like they are important to the plot in the beginning but then they just disappear and let them deal with the vampires on their own.

The film starts in an unexpected way, with a great soundtrack, and the whole thing is very interesting. It's been a long time since I've seen something so original.

Michael B Jordan incredible. I liked the first half of the movie more than the second

Ryan Coogler's team at their best! One of the best movies of the decade, for sure.

There’s a clear influence from The Strangers, but this is essentially a folk horror film—a style far more common in Korean, Taiwanese, or Southeast Asian cinema. Turning such B-movie material into a big-budget studio release is a bold move, and for the most part, it works. The historical and folkloric segments are compelling, and the horror is serviceable. But when gangster action and racial politics are also thrown into the mix, it starts to feel overstuffed and tonally scattered.

The film blends genre conventions with remarkable ease while offering sharply drawn characters and well-expressed themes. With gorgeous visuals and a stirring score, it’s the kind of original storytelling that truly deserves to be seen on the big screen. Highly recommended.
