A portrait of everyday beauty and the wisdom to appreciate it, seen through the eyes of Hirayama, a quiet and simple man who works cleaning toilets in Tokyo. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, music, photography and tending to his plants. However, as the story progresses, it becomes clear that the peace he seems to find in his daily routine could be a way of escaping from a past that haunts him.
