A delicious Lynchian ride unbound by traditional storytelling conventions, Love Bugs presents a bold, poetic statement that asks big questions. The feast in the pasture is an homage to Fellini; blending fantasy and baroque images with salt of the earth characters. Another stylistic influence is Steve Conrad's Neo-Noir Western thriller Perpetual Grace - there is a rhythm to everything and a sense of intimacy between the viewer and the characters, including animals and nature.
