Jules (2023)★ 7.2/10

This is a very comforting and humorous film centered around the elderly. The sci-fi aspects and aliens are really just symbols that could be replaced with any other humanoid creatures, or even cats, dogs, or a doll (as long as you're willing to talk to it). However, the film maintains a kinda subdued tone in its storytelling, and the cinematography is reminiscent of what you might see in an American family drama. The abundant use of natural lighting feels right in this film and the montage transitions feel natural. It's a sci-fi movie that emphasizes the relationships and interactions between different species, so if you're expecting grand sci-fi spectacles, you might be let down. On a side note, would you ever allow an alien to take you away?

This film is incredibly endearing, with a tinge of melancholy throughout. I was surprised to realize that the male lead is Ben Kingsley! I didn't even recognize him! No offense, but is he really that old now? The director effortlessly brings out the emotions of each character, even though their backgrounds aren't extensively explained. Everyone’s story is quite touching. Jules truly embodies a listener figure, effectively showcasing the needs of the elderly, i.e., companionship. Overall, it's a film that will leave you with that cozy, fuzzy feeling when you watch it. 7 out of 10.

The concept is excellent, addressing a serious social issue in a humorous manner: everyone will grow old, and as members of society, how do we cater to the lives and spiritual needs of the elderly? Keeping them company is one thing, understanding them is another. We need to be reminded that they are gradually being forgotten by our society when they need our love and care the most.

Please never underestimate the power in such works, no matter how strange they may seem, for we will all get old one day. I'm sure this movie has garnered some attention, and that is good.

Jules is in a sense just like our dear furry companion dogs and cats! They can't speak and have no desires. They protect their owners and quietly listen to their lonely, incessant complaints. They become such important partners in our lives that during the end of their lives, we almost feel like we want to end our own lives to go with them. And at that moment, even a little love and care from friends and family can offer tremendous comfort. Because where there is love, there is a great place called home. It will not be just unlistened voicemails.

Esse filme engenhosamente usa a chegada de alienígenas para desvendar lentamente a solidão e o tédio que os idosos enfrentam quando vivem sozinhos. Na verdade, não posso culpar o idoso por escolher não deixar a Terra, pois percebemos que ninguém pode escapar da inevitabilidade do envelhecimento. Os três atores veteranos são excelentes, e suas atuações carregam o filme.

Esta película establece la llegada de los alienígenas de una forma ingeniosa para descubrir lentamente la soledad y el aburrimiento que enfrentan los ancianos cuando viven solos. No puedo culpar al anciano por elegir quedarse en la Tierra y nos damos cuenta que nadie puede escaparse de lo inevitable de envejecer. Los tres actores veteranos son estelares y sus actuaciones conducen la película.

É um filme muito reconfortante e bem-humorado centrado nos idosos. Os aspectos de ficção científica e alienígenas são, na verdade, apenas símbolos que podem ser substituídos por qualquer outra criatura humanóide – até mesmo gatos, cachorros ou uma boneca (desde que você esteja disposto a conversar com eles). O filme mantém um tom moderado em sua narrativa e a cinematografia lembra o que você veria em um drama familiar comum. O uso abundante de iluminação natural parece adequado e as transições de montagem, naturais. É uma ficção científica que enfatiza as relações e interações entre diferentes espécies, por isso, se está esperando um grande espetáculo, pode se decepcionar. Você permitiria que um alienígena te levasse embora?

Um filme incrivelmente cativante com um toque de melancolia. Fiquei surpreso ao perceber que o protagonista é Ben Kingsley, eu nem o reconheci! A direção traz à tona sem esforço as emoções de cada personagem, mesmo que suas origens não sejam extensivamente explicadas. As histórias de todos são emocionantes; Jules encarna uma figura de ouvinte, apresentando de forma eficaz as necessidades dos idosos. No geral, é um filme que vai deixar você com aquela sensação aconchegante e confusa. 7 de 10.

O conceito é excelente, abordando de forma bem humorada uma questão séria: todos envelhecem e, como membros da sociedade, precisamos atender as necessidades espirituais dos idosos. Fazer companhia a eles é uma coisa, compreendê-los é outra. Infelizmente, eles são gradualmente esquecidos pela sociedade quando mais precisam do nosso amor e cuidado.
