seamouseSeptember 22, 2024Joshua Oppenheimer's transition to feature films is indeed hypnotic and unsuccessful. The killing performance protects both the murderer and himself, making him reluctant to part with and even obsessed with the illusion he wove in the non-fiction story, so much so that this time he directly moved to the apocalyptic castle. The brilliant technical and storytelling ability does not prevent the production of bad films.
