She girlbossed the ocean. I say MOTHER! What an emotional and nail-biting survival film from Spain. Anna Castillo was born to take on this role. She made every impossible thing possible just to survive for her baby. That birth scene was one of the most thrilling scenes I’ve seen in a while. I bet I wouldn’t be able to live that long if that were me. Women are SO STRONG!

This movie is almost entirely driven by the lead actress in this thrilling one-woman show. She's stranded at sea, and in the second half of the movie, she's pretty much alone with just a baby, so her performance really carries the whole drama. Even though most of the story happens in the confined space of a cargo hold, it's captivating all the way through. The lead actress's performance just keeps getting better, and her emotional struggle at sea is enough to keep the audience engaged. It's truly inspiring to see her fight so hard to save herself and the baby. However, I lean towards an ending where the baby is rescued, but the mother tragically perishes in the sea.

All the challenges are well designed, but as a woman, I think the plot in the middle and ending parts of the movie, where the heroine struggles with her newborn baby, are too optimistic. It seems that the director wanna express the idea that even if the husband doesn’t help and only gives a few phone calls, being a mother with her child by her side and the belief of being loved by her husband is enough for a woman to tap into her potential and achieve things she's never done before, miraculously keeping herself and her child alive. Honestly, I was disappointed and sad with the perfect myth-like ending where both she and her baby survive.

Surviving dire circumstances, wisdom, motherhood, femininity, humanity, and limited space. It's wonderful to see the rich plot unfold even in this small space over nearly 2 hours, and I was truly amazed by the realism of certain scenes. The ending shot where she looks at the baby and then resolutely continues the rescue really made me burst into tears.

Gosh. It's been a long time since I've seen a survival movie like this, all tension and excitement throughout. The sense of helplessness and desperation reaches its peak in the second half. Some parts of the plot are outrageous and illogical, but isn't that the appeal? However, the narrative about the worldview is unnecessary and kinda like painting the lily, but overall, it is quite a good movie to kill time, and the heroine is really great at acting!

It is overly-emotional and the pacing is slow; too little is shown about the intellectual resistance to the disaster itself, and props are not used adequately; the unsatisfaction with this genre is kinda personal. The portrayal of fainting and pain is not bad. It’s suitable for the average audience who rarely watch movies.

The potential power that women have, as mothers, is unimaginable. Alone with a newborn child adrift at sea, she experiences both mental and physical despair, but her faith in protecting her child is enough to give her the motivation to live! Ignoring the bugs of the setting of the film's worldview, as a small-budget disaster survival movie, this movie is generally well done, and every scene is extremely realistic. The fact that she was saved at the end is a miracle that transcends reality and it shows the heroine's own intelligence and tenacity. Her acting is great, too!

My favorite kind of extreme survival movie. Despite the somewhat illogical plot, I loved it, and the heroine was really badass! When she gave birth I thought I was going to go crazy, then she ate the umbilical cord after birthing and I thought for sure I was going crazy, and when she sewed up her thighs and I almost went crazy... If she'd died in the end then it must be a crazy person typing this right now.

Sobrevivendo a circunstâncias terríveis, sabedoria, maternidade, feminilidade, humanidade e espaço limitado.
