TV adaptation of Pagnol's 1928 comedy. The thoroughly honorable Topaze (Willy Rathnov) is a teacher at a dubious private school. When he is fired thanks to his straightforward firmness of principle, he is soon whirled into the local municipal policy, which is as corrupt as it is amusingly portrayed.
