A Marquesa Isabelle De Merteuil pode ter sido o melhor papel de Glenn Close no cinema, mas o mais conhecido é, sem dúvidas, o da psicótica editora Alex Forrest no thriller hitchcockiano de Adrian Lyne, "Atração Fatal". Em entrevistas dadas com o passar dos anos, Glenn brincava que sofreu por um bom tempo com essa personagem porque via o medo estampado no olhar dos homens.
