A revolutionary animated film that laid the groundwork for later works like The Matrix and Inception. It explores themes of life’s evolution and reproduction, as well as the implantation and detachment of human consciousness, and is brimming with postmodern philosophical reflections—absolutely mind-blowing!

This 1995 classic is nothing short of a masterpiece! The score is breathtaking, especially during the scene of desolate streets without any dialogue, accompanied only by the sound of rain and music. Integrating traditional Japanese music into a sci-fi work is absolutely brilliant.

Mamoru Oshii’s animated depiction of a sci-fi world is filled with profound philosophical musings on the essence of life. “Ghost in the Shell ”is a masterpiece that provokes thought and amazement from start to finish, with its dark urban landscapes and dreamlike sequences, and the interplay of light and shadow being particularly mesmerizing.

It’s hard to describe the genius of Masamune Shirow and Mamoru Oshii. The meticulously thought-out and expressed worldview, coupled with existential philosophy, blends perfectly with the film’s apocalyptic and slow-paced tone. The musical transitions without dialogue are a favorite expressive technique of mine, and the smartly interspersed setups and twists are captivating and intelligent.
