In this intense and claustrophobic Brazilian drama with dark satire overtones, a wealthy self-made man is tormented when his daughter (for whom he nurses incestuous desires) chooses to marry a man he secretly knows to be homosexual. His own business ventures are far from uncomplicated, and he struggles with guilt over a substandard housing project he built.
