King Kong (2005)★ 7.3/10

This movie's plot is a bit tricky to keep up with, but it does wrap up the whole thing eventually. You just gotta focus on certain parts a bit more. It takes forever to get into the action, and King Kong's debut is way later than you'd think. The movie itself is just too long. The battle scenes are insane, and King Kong's pretty adorable at times, but his face doesn't give off many emotions. And the whole friendship between King Kong and the humans feels a bit cheesy, like they're buds, just because they were both lonely for too long before meeting, so it didn't really tug at my heartstrings.

The movie excels in developing the characters and paying attention to detail. King Kong, Ann, and the director who practices fraud just to be famous all show different sides of human nature. But, there are still some problems with handling those characters and details. Even though it's three hours long, some of the main characters' reasons for doing things aren't totally clear.

Directed by Peter Jackson and starred Naomi Watts, Jack Black and Adrien Brody, this new version of "King Kong" has Andy Serkis’s talent to the motion capture of the apes.

This is one of the best movies ever made about the legendary gorilla. Plus, it is proof that Jack Black has a serious acting side outside comedy roles.

This was one of the first movies where Andy Serkis was able to explore his skills on motion capture, resulting in one of the best movies ever made of the giant gorilla.

King Kong has had many fights through his career, but none of them can be compared to the one in this movie with a T-Rex. One of the best movies about the character.

All aspects of this film were designed to highlight Naomi Watts’ performance mastery. A great way to retell one of the classic Hollywood stories.
