Bob WoolseyMay 16, 2025I'll never forget the scene with Catherine O'Hara playing Colin Hanks' mom crying and musing aloud why he wants to leave home so bad to go to university, and he yells out, "BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT YOU DO AFTER HIGH SCHOOL!!!"
This is one of those movies that met me at the exact moment I was going through the same experiences. I had gone to university, but I hadn't left home. I yearned to be off on my own so I could do my own thing and figure out who I was. This was a hilarious confirmation for me that I needed to trust my gut and go.
