Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010)★ 6.3/10

This is one of the worst adaptations I’ve ever seen. Characters have nothing to do with the ones in the book. Some important scenes were either changed or simplified. After the end of Harry Potter we were waiting for a new saga to watch at the movies, but this one was disappointing.

I first watched this movie before reading the book and I really enjoyed it. I do not agree with all changes they made, but I don’t think they were bad for the title. The story makes sense independently and entertains. The actors playing the main trio did a great job, it’s a pity we couldn’t follow them up to the last book.

Based on writer Rick Riordan's youth fantasy saga, this movie could be understood as a combination between Harry Potter and Greek mythology. A great way to start learning more about one of the most important western mythologies.

With a stellar cast delivering memorable performances, this film is a winner. The soundtrack, featuring standout tracks like 'Poker Face,' adds an extra layer . And...
