Lúcia@3201March 21, 2025As a commercial film, it offers no deeper themes to explore. However, as an adaptation of the popular video game, Sony has made considerable efforts to faithfully recreate elements of the original material, including character selection. The film provides an entertaining and fast-paced experience, fulfilling its role as popcorn entertainment. While it lacks thematic depth, it serves as an enjoyable time-killer.

Paulín39March 18, 2025The film attempts to replicate the formula of a Jackie Chan-style action comedy but fails to deliver humor or engaging action sequences. The puzzle-solving elements feel uninspired, making the adventure feel stale. It lacks the tension of "Tomb Raider" and falls short of the character depth found in "National Treasure." Terrible.

FastAndActionSeptember 28, 2023As a fan of the game, the movie went down well with me. There's a balance between originality and adaptation, and the gameplay elements within the movie was enough to satisfy the fans whilst not making the film too obscure for the general audience. When presenting itself as a lighthearted popcorn movie, it has an advantage over other similar game adaptations in that it has four original game titles, i.e. a rich library of material for the movie to adapt and reference from.

theohoratioSeptember 28, 2023
theohoratioSeptember 28, 2023It's trying to imitate a Jackie Chan-style adventure comedy, but it's just not funny, and the action isn't great. It relies on just two major action scenes to placate the audience, and the mystery solving is questionably uninteresting; there is nothing new or sincere in every aspect. The plot tension and characterization is severely lacking, and I actually thought the writers were going to run out of ideas while watching many of the scenes. Once again, I feel the creative burnout of the typical Hollywood commercial movie.

saNTOS_7September 28, 2023Good. The pacing is tight, the story is great, the treasure hunt is fun and exciting, and while some details are overexaggerated, they don't affect the general plot. Holland is in even better shape. I'm expecting both game adaptations and treasure hunt-themed movies to be popular again in the future, and I look forward to the sequels too.

It sucks. The non-action scenes are outrageously incomprehensible, the plot twists and behavioral logic make no sense, while the fight scenes are barely satisfactory. Also, it's quite obvious which scene is taken from the Jackie Chan film. "Falling from a height" restores the sense of gameplay, and the dizzying switching of perspectives brings about sensory stimulation, but the final spectacle of "an airplane pulling a boat" is overdone. A childish game won't evoke any pain or emotion whatsoever in the viewer.

Even though it's a movie adaptation, I had a great time watching it as a longtime fan of the original game. At times, Holland's expressions were awkward and the treasure hunt was pretty silly, but it felt like the production team made an effort to respect the game. There were appearances of a few well-known scenes, and I liked them even though they were adapted. There are also some fan-oriented easter eggs, like the one when Nathan puts on the tactical vest with the game's soundtrack playing in the background almost made me stand up in excitement.

toKoralíSeptember 28, 2023Far better than expected. With treasure-seeking narratives reaching a bottleneck, the use of spectacular action scenes becomes the key to the movie's triumph. It's like a Jackie Chan movie, or more specifically, it’s like a comeback of the fun action genre (that Hong Kong films are famous for) in mainstream Hollywood after "Shang-chi". It’s really worth believing in Ruben Fleischer.

thinkmillerSeptember 27, 2023The plot is pretty generic, but it's quite a surprise that Tom Holland was able to perfectly portray a character different from Peter Parker despite the similar appearance.
