From the western seaboard of Ireland, an atmospheric documentary celebrating forty years of Listowel Writers' Week. An off-beat blend of poetry and music, nostalgia and reflection, politics and philosophy, set against the backdrop of a nation in crisis. Featuring poetry, music and reflections from artists at the top of their game including Neil Jordan, Colm Toibin, Robert McCrum, Joseph O'Connor, Richard Dawkins and John Sheehan of the Dubliners. With archival footage of 70's Ireland, poetry from Rita Ann Higgins, and music by Julie Feeney, Mickey McConnell and Scullion.
