Much like the Grinch, I don’t typically enjoy festive family gatherings, but by the end, the warmth of the story completely won me over.

However, the townspeople come together to sing carols, showing that joy is still present even without Christmas decorations. While some find safety in togetherness, others watch from a lonely corner atop a snowy mountain, unable to dispel their solitude with the dazzling lights below.

The townspeople are filled with Christmas joy while the Grinch feels nothing but loneliness. So he tries hard to steal Christmas so that everyone feels as lonely as he is. People of different backgrounds come together to sing carols, and manage to still find happiness even if their Christmas decorations are stolen. In this world, some people congregate for a sense of safety, while others, unable to shake off their loneliness, hide away in the "snowy mountains", gazing at the brilliant lights below.

The Grinch is just too cute to be remotely cruel or scary. The residents don't even treat him as a terrifying monster who lives in the mountains. He is no more than a weird neighbor. This makes the whole plot seem pointless.

The visuals are gorgeous, the characters are funny, the "conflicts" with no real stakes, and the heartwarming ending. It's nothing new, yet it is everything you need in a Christmas movie. The Grinch's dog and the reindeer are pretty cute, making me imagine having a companion like them myself.
