Lore (2017)★ 6.4/10

I find the idea of this being based on a podcast super interesting, and, knowing about the podcast before, I was excited to see it in moving image. However, I think the haunting and wondering nature of the podcast, which relies solely on narration (obviously) was largely lost on the show trying to be passed out as a horror show type of thing. Some episodes are terrifying, while others assume floating-head-documentary airs that dengerously toe the incredibly boring line, especially in the wake of the more impressive ones. It may be a question either selecting specific episodes from the podcast, or selecting a specific direction the producers would like to take them to and go with that, otherwise it just becomes some sort of "shots fired" situation and nobody knows where what's coming from or getting at.
