Prey (2024)★ 3.7/10

The premise—a group of survivors trying to stay alive after a plane crash—sounds promising, but the story feels painfully thin. Characters are barely developed, and the poacher’s sudden turnaround feels forced. Gritty wilderness visuals alone aren’t enough to carry an otherwise underwritten film.

I’m always drawn to survival adventure stories, and this one had the potential—with sweeping savannahs, lions, elephants, and zebras offering plenty of spectacle. Yet the realism falters fast. A plane crashes in the middle of nowhere, yet most passengers walk away unscathed. That kind of illogical narrative really breaks immersion.
