Se feliz e insiste en lo que te motive y haga bien;

The cliché that a woman has to be both a mother and an “all-round superwoman” adds nothing new. The ending, which glorifies a never-ending cycle of motherhood, only makes the overall impression worse.

The root cause of women’s long-term oppression lies in their reproductive capacity. If women remain trapped by reproductive worship, every feminist movement risks losing its significance. Unfortunately, the film’s comedic timing feels forced, and it gradually runs out of steam.

I tried seeing NIGHTBITCH last year when it was at the Vancouver Film Festival, but it sold out too fast. I finally got to see it on Disney Plus. Based on a book of the same name, Amy Adams plays Mother, a mom of a 3-year-old Son who was an accomplished artist. Scoot McNairy plays her Husband who’s away for work most of the time, leaving her to do everything a mother has to do. Over time, she starts building up this animalistic fury inside her. The very first scene perfectly sets up the tone, showing us the repetitive tasks, the domesticity, and the loneliness. There are some conversations between Mother and Husband that feel real and unfortunately relatable. Amy Adams is the best reason to see this movie. She perfectly balances between the “everything is alright” and the “I can snap at any moment”, just like a mother I can only imagine. She also shows us unique sides of herself we haven’t seen from her. I enjoyed the slow transformation of her character. This movie plays with a lot of ideas and was expecting it to go a little further with some of them. The body horror element was surprisingly tame for me. NIGHTBITCH is a dark comedy that uses surrealism to tell a very real story about how hard being a mother truly is. Some people will think it weird, but I highly recommend it if you have Disney Plus.
