Muitos vão procurar a trilha sonora e a ouvirão repetidamente a noite toda. The Origin of Love, aliado à sua animação excêntrica, captura uma visão radicalmente comovente do amor.

John Cameron Mitchell’s work here—as writer, director, actor, and singer—is nothing short of astonishing. For rock fans, this is likely a cult classic. Many will find themselves hunting down the soundtrack and listening to it on repeat all night. It’s also one of the most emotionally resonant queer films out there. "The Origin of Love," paired with its whimsical animation, captures a radically moving vision of love.

In the film’s final moments, Hedwig sheds her wig and bares her chest, confronting both the world and herself. It’s a raw act of self-reckoning. Whether you’re a gay man or a trans person, there’s beauty in being honest and being brave enough to face who you really are.
