A dubbing conspiracy?

This isn't about the (honestly overdone) sub vs dub debate! I was on Reddit the other day and read a weird conspiracy about the new season of Squid Game : that the dubs are intentionally bad. The idea was that by making a really bad dub, people would go online to talk about it, making it a “trending topic” on various social media sites.

To be honest, I don't know if I buy it… but then again, I haven't watched the new season, so I was wondering what people here might think. Do you think Squid Game's dubs are deliberately bad? And do you think any other shows are doing the same?

I don't think it's a deliberate act. The squid game has managed to earn its space. It's controversial enough. Be careful, I also have to marathon that season.

I watched all of Squid games in Sub for this reason, but for some reason, they decided to hire really bad American actors for the English dialogue (when the rich people watch the games.) I think they think we won't notice just because they are American and talk in English. But because the Korean actors were so phenomenal it was exceptionally obvious to me. I don't know why a lot of foreign films do this.
