4. Ocean’s Eleven (2001)

I’m confident that Danny Ocean was the mastermind behind the Louvre Museum robbery; you can’t change my mind. Ocean’s Eleven is one of those classic movies I always meant to watch but somehow kept putting off. I finally took the plunge last month and watched the whole trilogy. This particular one stands out as my favorite. I mean, having George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon in one movie feels like the greatest cinematic experience ever. With a brilliant cast, an incredibly entertaining plot, and great camerawork, Ocean’s Eleven stands out as, if not the best, one of the best heist films ever. It’s a genuinely entertaining film that keeps surprising you; you definitely don’t expect how they manage to get away with things.

3. The Game (1997)

I hope my brother never gifts me this immersive game experience where I get drugged and abandoned in Mexico. If you’ve read my posts before, you’ve probably seen me talk about The Game (1997), directed by David Fincher. I have to say, this is perhaps one of his most underrated and best films. It’s full of thrills and tension, creating an incredibly unsettling atmosphere. It’s the kind of movie that makes you suspicious of everyone, leaving you unsure of who to trust, even until the very last frame. You can clearly see how it inspired many later films, and, of course, the now-famous intro for the show Succession.

2. Unfaithful (2002)

Seriously, who thought cheating on Richard Gere was a good idea? That might be the least plausible storyline ever, yet somehow, they made it work. Unfaithful was the most surprising movie I’ve seen in the last few months. It’s definitely not what you expect. It starts as a straightforward drama—a married woman cheating on her husband with a younger man. But then, everything goes sideways, and it slowly transforms into a gripping thriller that will absolutely keep you on the edge of your seat. With great acting, a potent atmosphere, and a powerful reliance on silence and visual narrative, Unfaithful is a movie you’ll certainly enjoy.

1. One Battle After Another (2025)

I can’t believe Leo spends the whole movie running around in a bathrobe and still absolutely kills it. One Battle After Another is easily my favorite film of 2025. I truly feel nothing else coming out until December will beat this masterpiece. I’ve already seen it twice and am ready for a third viewing. This movie is Paul Thomas Anderson’s (PTA) comeback, and he crushed it. The cast, the score, the story, the camerawork—it all perfectly hits the spot and delivers one of the best cinematic experiences of the year. I especially loved the duo of Leo and Benicio del Toro on the big screen; what great chemistry they have! Thank goodness I got to experience this film in a proper cinema.
