Our Turning Point

General Reviews

Peter had arrived furious at the most despicable place at this moment for him: Osborn's house. With all its luxury wherever, its towers and stained glass, and even the ivy on the walls, this place couldn't be more depressing; After all, it was this worm's lair, unworthy offspring from an even worse vermin, if this was possible… He shook his head. What about those thoughts? Peter never had felt more alive and self-conscious, and yet he was worried about the way this thing was making him feel, think, and act.

Peter had to be there despite everything; he had to confront that pig. If Aunt May knew he had gone there, she would be very upset; maybe if Mary Jane knew it, she would try to convince him to not go and, as a last card, go with him. But his arrival there was something spontaneous; he had arrived not only thanks to his feet but also to the strength of his contained fury…those thoughts again; how could he get them out of his mind?

Night's cloak protected and betrayed him at the same time; he felt the pressure of the several small hooks against his fingertips, hanging later from the slate wall, half covered with ivy, whose branches felt tough against his jeans and breast. Despite the cold of the night, his body itched under the clothes, as if thousands of pins were coming towards him from every place at once; but it couldn't be the ivy's poison, because clothes protected him. It could maybe be his rage?

When Peter got to the upper floor and sneaked in through the window, he felt himself somehow odd; he felt for a moment the urgent need to stop with all that; Harry was his best friend despite all; he hadn´t chosen his father… No, he is a repulsive worm that stands in the way of our plans, and we must kill him…that was what Peter felt whispering into his mind.

Harry imagined Peter even before he came at his back. He didn't even stop serving the drinks.

“A drink?” he asked politely.

“I don’t want anything from you, miserable garbage,” Parker listened to himself say. “The only thing I really want is to make you SUFFER!"

Peter was advancing quickly towards him, but Harry was ready this time. He got avoid Peter hit with his arm.

“Where is the shy high school boy now?” Harry asked ironically, their tightened faces almost touching. “At the end you look just as you actually are.”

Suddenly some metal hooks protruded from Harry's arm; one of them hurt Peter's hand, and he avoided it almost immediately, which made some blood drops fall down on Harry's Persian rug. Harry took advantage of Peter's commotion to reject him so violently that he broke down a glass table when he landed over it.

“This is all you can give?” Harry asked mockingly. “No wonder Mary Jane wanted to try me…”

Maybe he is right; you're pathetic. Say that toxic voice in his head, No way, I will take the maximum control… No, you will not, tried Peter to say to the voice, but it was too late.

Peter stood up so suddenly and vigorously that his legs hurt, but he continued walking toward Harry; his look had a different shine, one that Harry had never seen in him. Harry couldn't deny that this time he was indeed, and for the first time, very afraid of Peter.

Harry was going back slowly.

“Peter, this one is not you…” Harry said cautiously.

“How strange! Some minutes before, you said I look now just as I am.”

When Peter had approached enough, Harry tried protecting himself again with his hooks; he moved his armed arm toward Peter, but this time his weapons didn't help him. Peter tore off every one of them from his arm with incredible reflexes and not too much effort. Harry tried a low hook, but Peter caught him in the act and, with his right arm, took Harry by the neck and lifted him so easily as if he were made of paper.

With his left hand, Peter violently hit the head of Harry one time and again while grabbing him with his right hand; his velocity was so high that Harry couldn't react properly and stayed between his hands like a rag doll. Then Peter threw Harry up so strongly that he flew at least 20 meters and broke down with his body a mahogany chair and a table before destroying a great glass window, to finally land with such great impact against the fireplace that he fell stunned for a moment.

Peter approached slowly and with a mischievous gesture.

“You will kill me as you did with my father?” Harry asked, very badly wounded.

Peter felt strange for a moment; this was the same space where Harry had received him as kindly and let him live… He deserves it, says that voice again. The symbiont takes yet more control in response to Peter's attempts to avoid its negative influence.

“I will not try to convince you anymore,” Peter said, grabbing him by the shirt’s neck and lifting him.

“He loved me,” Harry replied with a sad gesture.

“Oh no, he did not,” Peter denied mockingly. “He detested you with all his strength and was ashamed of you.”

The gesture on Harry's face became more sad, and his eyes became more wet. Peter felt then the urgen impulse of reconfort him, but that awful force claimed all his body again.

“Oh, the little babe will cry!” ironized Peter with a phlegmatic face. “How much it moves me!”

Moonlight added to their faces a strange appearance.

“This is definitively not you,” Harry expressed. “But that’s great; this way MJ will see you as a monster and will continue falling on my arms and kissing me.”

“Kissing me so…” Harry continued.

Careless of the risk of being yet more injured by Peter, Harry took him by the neck with both hands and approached his face to his until he felt his warm breath on his nose; instead of what he expected, Peter didn't avoid the contact. Rather to this, he went yet deeper, caressing his hair with both hands. Their lips touched and opened; their tongues touched too, dancing and exploring their mouths.

When they separated, Peter threw him again to the floor and began to walk toward the door.

“This is entirely your business,” he said while walking.

“Don’t simulate that you feel not the same!”

Harry had rage: How could he deny that he felt the same? Love made you do stupid things, just as he did then.

Harry took one of his small explosive spheres and threw it with all his strength in Peter's direction.

Peter saw the sphere passing at his side, and the symbiont took care again, grabbing it with a spider web thread and returning it to Harry.

Harry saw the sphere, as if in slow motion, flowing to his side.

“You great BASSSTTTAAARRRDDDD!”

Peter felt the blowing up at his back but continued walking slowly toward the door.

Despite his apparent careless attitude, he was hurrying; and not only by the symbiont, but also to avoid the confrontation with his own urgent feelings.

This piece reads like a passionate, high-stakes fanfic that tries to dive deep into Peter’s psychological fragmentation under the influence of the symbiote. There’s raw intensity and ambition in the language — especially in how inner conflict, rage, and desire are intertwined. The author clearly wanted to explore not only a physical confrontation but also a twisted emotional link between Peter and Harry.

That said, the execution could benefit from more polish and coherence. The language often feels overwrought, with metaphors and adjectives piling up until the meaning gets murky (“the freshness of the night,” “rage size,” “hooks against his fingertips”) — these could be trimmed or rephrased for clarity.

There are also structural issues: the tone wavers between dramatic literature and emotional parody. This could be intentional, but if so, it needs stronger stylistic control. Dialogue at times slips into melodrama, which risks undercutting the weight of the scene rather than intensifying it.

The twist — the kiss — is bold. It will definitely provoke reactions. But for it to land as cathartic rather than confusing or gratuitous, we need more emotional groundwork before that moment. As it stands, it feels sudden, and not fully earned.Still, there's a unique voice here, and a willingness to take risks. With some careful editing, especially in pacing, sentence clarity, and emotional setup, this could evolve into a powerful character study — and a compelling reimagining of this relationship.
